Chipping and Pitching:
When chipping or pitching the ball, it is very important to keep your weight on the front foot, so your club head will hit the ball with a descending blow. This gives the ball the maxium amount of spin and gives it a chance to check and stop near your target. A good drill for this is to place a ball under the middle of rear foot, this will force you to keep the weight on your front foot and not shift it backwards away from your target during your swing. Use a good shoulder turn and you will be hitting good shots around the green. |
